He was agitated. Of all the times, why did now have to be the time he could not get a decent parking spot. The mall was busy, he was sick and to top it off late. Than his wife said, “have you asked God to help?”
Sounds simple doesn’t it? Just simply ask the God of all that is, heaven and earth, to help. The fact is that not only can God help but He wants to. At its core that is the difference between the Old and New Testaments. God no longer confined to heaven or special buildings while He sends us a code to conduct ourselves by but instead God now intricately involved in every decision and moment of the believer as He takes up residence in their heart.
But does it do us any good? Not if we ignore His voice. Most certainly not if we never even give Him the chance to speak about our situations by asking Him. Oh, by the way, that man asked God for a good parking spot. No sooner had he asked God and the best spot in the mall parking lot opened up and he slid right into it. Amazing what happens when you ask. “
Ye have not, because ye ask not” (James 4:2).
