The drums were beat steadily with thunderous sound echoing throughout the building. The people, some of them, came forward and began to walk in a large circle. Voices were raised and soon some broke out into dancing. Eventually some even became completely oblivious to their surroundings as they were lost in the spirit and the moment.
This is a description of a common happening during the singing part of a church service in the region of Mizoram in India. I have been other places where hands are clapped in unity at varying speeds and noise levels. Commonly in America hands are raised as keyboards, pianos and organs are masterfully played to the latest music. I have been other places where the often fall to the floor and prostrate themselves upon the floor in reverence to the Lord. Which of these is worship?
Worship literally means to show reverence and homage. The word picture is for someone to fall at the feet of their master and Lord. The reality is all of the above are and can be worship depending upon the sincere intent and heart of the one doing them. Worship is not a specific action. Worship is a specific attitude. It is an attitude of acknowledgement, submission and action.
For however it manifests itself outwardly, when we truly worship it acknowledges God as God all by Himself. With that knowledge it, the worshipper as he worships, submits himself to God as his Lord and King. It then manifests itself in action. Whether in a circle, in a dance, hands clapped or hands raised, true worship cannot be contained in the heart for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Worship is an attitude in action, that attitude being one of reverence and homage to the Almighty God.
Another thing about true worship is it cannot be contained to a church service. For true worship not only causes you come with a certain attitude it causes you to leave another way then you came. Worship changes you. Are you a worshipper?

As a woman I often feel that our apostolic way of dressing can be a form of worship. It is for me. It can go beyond obedience, and become a form of worship, if done with the right attitude. I believe a person percieve by looking at an Apostolic woman and see which attitude is behind it. God honors simple obedience. However there is something illuminating about a woman whom worships God in this manner.
